What's new in v2

This is the list your ticker's settings page shows under What's new. To open it there, tap the Firmware: line at the top of the page, or the What's new link at the bottom.

• The settings page is all new. Rebuilt to be cleaner and easier, especially on a phone, with a choice of light and dark themes. Changes now apply on the ticker the moment you make them (only the coin list has a Save button), and the little ? beside every section explains it in plain words, tap any of them.
• Market Info cards. Short whole-market check-ins shown between your coins: the market's total value and mood, and the hottest sector right now. Turn one on and it plays on your ticker right away.
• One place for every layout. One, two, or four coins per screen, all chosen on a single page instead of three separate tabs, each layout remembering its own style.
• Room for twelve coins. Your list grows from ten slots to twelve.
• More chart choices, finer detail. Seven time ranges from 24 hours to 90 days, drawn from much finer data, the 24-hour chart gets a fresh point every 15 minutes.
• Colors of your own. Recolor the price figures on the screen, instant, remembered separately for each colorset, with a Default button to put anything back.
• Quiet hours. The ticker dims itself between two times you set, then brings itself back, at its own night level separate from your daytime brightness. Crossing midnight works: 10pm to 7am is one stretch.
• Far more coin logos. The built-in artwork now covers over a thousand coins, so many more of your picks show their own logo instead of a plain placeholder.
• Pause a coin, or all of them. Pause any coin to drop it from the rotation and bring it back later, right from the settings page, one at a time, or all at once.
• A fixed address, if you want one. Wi-Fi setup can now give your ticker a permanent address on your network instead of letting the router pick, so the settings page is always at the same place. Most people can skip it.
• A lock for your settings. Set a password to keep the settings page view-only for anyone who doesn't have it, your ticker keeps running exactly as before.
• Copy settings between tickers. Save your settings to a file and load them onto another ticker, handy when you have more than one and want them to match.
• Easier to set up. The first-time setup is clearer and more guided, a step-by-step guide plays right on the ticker (handy for a new router or a new home), and if anything trips it up, it says what and how to fix it.
• The settings page diagnoses its own failure to load. If the settings page can't load, the fallback probes the network and says which side is broken: your internet is down, or my server didn't answer. No guessing at a blank page, and no reason to go re-doing a working Wi-Fi.
• A signal check at startup. Once per power-up, ahead of the coins, the ticker says how strong its link to your router is in words, not just numbers. A weak reading is about where it sits and how far your router reaches. A room closer, or nearer a mesh point, is usually the fix.
• It watches its own power supply. The ticker keeps an eye on the voltage reaching it and speaks up if it looks wrong either way, judged over a rolling minute so a brief dip never raises a card. Usually it's a thin cable or an adapter with little to spare.
• And more to find as you go. Plenty of smaller touches are tucked throughout, have a poke around the settings and see what you turn up.
