CryptoTicr as a gift for a Bitcoin or crypto fan

A screen for their coins
For someone who checks Bitcoin or their favorite coins many times a day, CryptoTicr puts the prices on a small, bright screen for the desk or nightstand, always on. They choose up to 12 coins from the 1,000 largest, each with a chart. There is no app, no account and no subscription, so the gift never comes with a bill. What it shows: Bitcoin price ticker for your desk and Features at a glance.
What they need at home
- A 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network with internet access, and its password. The ticker cannot see a 5 GHz-only network; most home routers offer both. The details are on Wi-Fi requirements.
- A phone, tablet or computer with a web browser, for a few minutes of setup.
- A USB socket that stays powered. The adapter in the box covers this.
What is in the box
- The ticker.
- A USB cable, USB-A to USB-C, with an on/off button in the lead.
- A 110 V power adapter with a USB-A socket.
- The Quick-Start card, with the Wi-Fi setup explained on the back.
- The two-year limited warranty card.
The setup
Setup happens on their Wi-Fi, not yours. When they plug it in, the screen walks them through it: it starts with Let's get me set up / on your home Wi-Fi, then names its own setup network under Join my Wi-Fi and shows a QR code that joins it for them. Step by step: Quick start.
A ticker you tried first
If you set it up on your own Wi-Fi to try it, erase it before you wrap it, so it starts fresh on theirs. On the settings page, choose Erase… in the Device section, then Everything, (FACTORY RESET). The ticker restarts into first-time setup. More on resets: Factory reset.
Where to buy
Buy on Amazon, $79.99. Amazon ships the order and handles returns: Where to buy. Every ticker has a two-year warranty and support from Lee, who wrote the firmware: Warranty.
