Factory default: none yet: the ticker is told its zone the first time it reaches the server

The control

Nighttime quiet hours → the zone row under the times.

What it does

Stores a zone name such as America/New_York. The server turns it into the local offset used for quiet hours. Empty means never told; the ticker then uses New York time.

The choices

• The United States zones, then a set of world zones, plus whatever zone your device reported.

On the glass

Quiet hours re-evaluate within a second.

The stored key

tz in the ticker’s settings, and in the file that Export writes. The shipped value is generated from the one source of defaults and shown on this page by the site, never typed here.
