The coin boxes are empty when the settings page opens

Symptoms

The settings page opened but every coin box is empty, or the page shows Your ticker is busy. / Usually that's only for a moment. with Checking again… (check #n) counting up. The ticker itself is on your Wi-Fi and may already be cycling coins.

Cause

The ticker’s web server starts before its settings have finished loading, so a page opened in the seconds after setup can be answered before the coin list is ready. The page knows this: when the ticker reports that settings were saved but sends no coins, the page keeps asking rather than show empty boxes as if that were the truth. A brand-new ticker that has never had a list saved is the one case where empty boxes are real, and even then it ships with a starter set of coins already marked as saved, so that case is rare.

Fix

  1. Wait. The page fills itself in the moment the ticker answers with its coins; the Checking again… counter proves it is still asking.
  2. If nothing changes after a minute, tap the CryptoTicr logo at the top of the page to reload it.
  3. If the boxes are still empty after a reload and the ticker is showing coins on its screen, type your coins again and tap Save & Apply Coins; see Pick your first coins.
