Glass says I can't see my server

Symptoms

• The coins stop changing. A small pill, Retry 1 of 3, appears over them for a few seconds, three times.
• Then a box: I can't see my server, a line such as Wi-Fi down. | OK 4m ago | Try 7, a row of addresses in green and red, and Trying again in ~8s with a draining bar. Then the coins again, and the loop repeats.
• Sometimes the signal card with a bottom line such as Your internet looks down or The trouble is at our end.

Cause

A price fetch failed hard: no connection, a timeout, or a server error. The ticker keeps the last good screen on the glass rather than blanking it, and retries on a rising schedule while it works out where the fault is. The verdict line is that finding: Wi-Fi down., No IP address from router., No internet., DNS is flaky here., something answers for my server, Server down (internet OK)., Can't reach the internet., Connection is flaky here. and so on. OK 4m ago says when data last arrived; Try 7 counts attempts; restart 43m says a self-restart is scheduled if nothing improves.

After many failed tries the ticker drops and rejoins the Wi-Fi so its radio can pick the strongest access point again, and after a long stretch with no reply it restarts itself once, with Restarted to refresh / my server link on its start screen.

Fix

1. Read the verdict line. It tells you which layer failed.
2. Wi-Fi down., No IP address from router., Wi-Fi rejected my password: the router or the link. See What happens when the Wi-Fi drops.

6. In every case, leave the ticker on. It recovers the moment its server answers and the coins resume where they were.
